Who We Are:
At Fuzzy Ewe Farm, we are focused on conservation and sustainability. Leicester Longwools are a conservation breed listed as threatened in the U.S. and Europe. We are active members of both The Livestock Conservancy and the Leicester Longwool Breeders Association where we also serve on the Board of Directors.

Leicester Longwool History
Leicester Longwools were originally bred by Robert Bakewell in the mid-1700s. Mr. Bakewell was the pioneer of selective breeding and became famous for his techniques. His intent was to select characteristics for a triple purpose breed (dairy, meat and wool). The result was a strong-boned, barrel-shaped "table top" breed of sheep that were high-quality producers of all three. Leicester Longwools are also very friendly and easy to manage making them suitable for shepherds with small children and other pets.

We have a very small herd of registered llamas. They guard the sheep from predators ad add an incredible amount of enjoyment to our farm.
